JURNAL PERILAKU HIDUP BERSIH DAN SEHAT TERHADAP PENCEGAHAN PENYAKIT FLU BURUNG PADA ANAK SEKOLAH DASAR DI KECAMATAN SALAM KABUPATEN MAGELANG PADA BULAN MARET TAHUN 2007



ABSTRACT
Avian Influenza is one of contagious disease that caused by type A of influenza virus (strain H5N1) that spreaded through fowl and it can infect to human beings. While, the hygienic behaviour interest needed to prevent its infections. Avian Influenza had defined to be extraordinary case in September 19th 2005. In early 2007, the total case of Avian Influenza disease in Indonesia were 81 patients with
63 peoples died (there are two cases in Yogyakarta); most of the patients were children ( Soemardi, 2007). 
The research was conducted to describe the hygienic behaviour to prevent Avian Influenza disease on elementary school student. The research took place at State Elementary School of Sucen and Islamic Elementary School of Glagahombo in Salam district Magelang regency. The data was collected from 172 respondents by proportionate sratified random sampling (probability sampling) through questionnaire with ordinal scale. While, the collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistics in SPSS for Windows 10.5 programs to show the charateristic of data. The data scoring was classified into five levels extreme high, high, medium, low, and extreme low by the standard rules way using mean and standard deviation (Riwidigdo, 2007).
The research found that 32,56 % of the total respondents have a good awareness (in high level) of hygienic behaviour to prevent Avian Influenza disease. The 1st grade gets 35,48 % in medium level, the 2nd grade gets 43,48 % in high level, the 3rd grade gets 41,38 % in high level, the 4th grade gets 36,67 % in medium level, the 5th grade gets 45,16 % in high level, and the 6th gets 35,71 % in low and medium level.
